brand new day

Welcome to 2clicksaway, a blog dedicated to photography and other nonsense.  Anyone familiar with the old ONEOWNER blog will feel comfortable with this new format since most things are the same, except there is no history.  But history makes itself and I’m hoping to follow the same path as ONEOWNER.  There are some minor differences, though.  This blog is 99% fact free whereas ONEOWNER was 100% fact free.  The added 1% fact makes this more nutritious and keeps readers on their toes.  The facts won’t necessarily be obvious so if there is any confusion, please leave a comment and I’ll personally get back to you.  As a matter of fact, I intend to answer all comments since I don’t anticipate very many anyway.  But do comment, please.

Another thing you may notice is a bit cleaner look since I’m not using too many Widgets.  There is no “Blogroll”.  I had one on the old blog but I neglected it and it never seemed up to date.  I’m unsure of the value of it so if anyone has any opinion at all, please let me know and I will be glad to add one in the near future.

In conjunction with this blog is a second blog, LIGHTSCATTER, which is very special to me.  I won’t be doing any writing on this blog, only posting photos.  There are quite a few blogs that follow this format and I really like the idea of having the photos stand on their own.   I also welcome comments on LIGHTSCATTER as well and look forward to sharing information on any photos.  The posts will represent  my favorite photos, so some may or may not appear here.

Oh, this guy might show up from time to time.  It’s in his contract.

A new blog! Or two! I am glad to see that Emo has a continuing role, as it seems that even in his dotage he remains creative and vigorous.

That top picture is really interesting – especially the radiating lines. Have you added those, or enhanced them in some way? I don’t recall seeing that effect/light before, though it does look natural.

Thanks, ehpem. The lines are called “Crepuscular rays” and it’s a natural phenomenon that occurs when atmospheric conditions are met. There is a slight boost in contrast and clarity to make them seem more prominent but they’re not added in this photo. This was taken in front of my house in 2010 after a heavy rain.
In an attempt to keep Emo happy, I had to include his photo in the first post, just so every one knows who’s boss.

That is interesting. I had never heard of that usage for crepuscular before, though I am familiar with it for the daily habits of some kinds of animals. From that I assume they must appear at dawn and dusk.
Indeed, it is possible that Emo is crepuscular, though he probably would not admit it. Glad to see he is still firmly in charge.

Here you are! I wondered what happened to oneowner. Glad I can still see your posts and photos.

Why did you decide to abandon the old blog with no forward?

Thanks, John. I’m glad you found us. I hope to continue sharing for a long time to come and I’m glad you can be a part of it.
I decided to delete the old blog because I didn’t think I could maintain it and continue the two new blogs as well. It also had some errors in it and I didn’t have the time to repair it, though I wish I could have. But I did learn a lot from it and hope these new blogs will be better because of it.

I tried to access to the Owner and I was told it does not exist anymore.. but everything is right now, I found you through your comment. What a beautiful rainbow! and a fantastic picture. I love Emo. I’ll appreciate to see him on this new blog.

Welcome back to the blogging world.

What?! Your old fact-free blog had errors? I was so busy enjoying the work, I never noticed problems. 🙂

Your new blogs have an air of excitement about them. The design, the photo choices—everything says this is going to be a great ride. Could you possibly have chosen a more perfect image to begin a new online life? What a spectacular picture. And, thank goodness Emo has a contract. Smart cat! Is his lawyer taking on any more clients?

Thanks, Anita. I’m glad you like the new formats and I’m hoping to refine them more as I go along. There are already several changes I have planned now that they are up and running.
Yes, there were errors, too many to mention but I think the new posts will be easier to handle.
Emo is also looking forward to playing a part when it suits him. I can only control him with the threat of cutting off his supply of Gerber Turkey Baby Food.

New blog and a fresh start. Sometimes I think what I would do different if I started over but then I like having that historical of seven years. Best of luck on both the new blogs, Ken!

Thanks, Earl. I under stand the value and the historical significance of a long standing blog, but I already have one other orphan blog and just don’t have the time to maintain all of them.
