This is a view from the new kaleidoscope at the RMSC. I thought it was pretty impressive when it was first installed. Generally, there are a lot of kids having fun with it but, on this day, I was fortunate to get some shots before folks started coming in to see it.
Pretty cool shot, man. Looking into each section is quite interesting. 🙂
Thanks, Jimi. It’s a beautiful kaleidoscope and lot of fun for everyone who sees it.
Loads to look at in this image. I like the ones with trees – they look like some of your “regular” photographs.
Thanks, ehpem. I should do a shot movie someday as the colors change as it spins via a liquid in the lens. It’s fascinating to watch.
I love the (nearly) precise symmetry of this, Ken. I thought it was exact to begin with and then as I studied it some more I noted the occasional asymmetry too. That adds something…….
Thanks, Andy. I couldn’t help the symmetry as my lens was right up against the viewer on the kaleidoscope. I’d like to go back on a sunnier day to re-photograph it.
Really good. Non-symetrical kaleidoscopic effect : a super idea ! (and very well-done)
Thanks, Pierre. It’s a lot of fun, too!
Almost looks like some type of precision drawing…pretty fascinating, Ken.
Thanks, Earl. I have a few other shots and no two are alike. Endless possibilities.
Like a dramatic beehive….shall I ask the silly question: how did you capture this pic? (Oh, sorry, just saw your answer to LenScaper….duh!) Fascinating stuff. Reminds me just a little of fractals some of which can be really fascinating.
PS: I notice your calendar is very ordered too…. 😉
Thanks, Janina. It reminded me of fractals, too. The order is not intentional but it just turns out that I can post on Monday and Thursday because of other life-related stuff. I hadn’t noticed it until you pointed it out!
