This house, on the shore of lake Ontario, is partially painted in front with a mural that almost blends with the sky and Lake behind it.

    So, I was going to comment on what I liked best about this shot but the more I looked at it the more I started to realize that I like it all. (Although I am increasingly fond of the way the tree seems to be holding the clouds back.)

    This is very nice photo. But a pretty strange building. Looks a bit like a house was tacked onto an old bell tower, or something. And then a shed onto the house, just to hold the whole works from falling over.

      Thanks, ehpem. The neighborhood is pretty, what’s a good word?, eclectic. There is no commonality at all and there are businesses mixed in with residential. But they do have Lake Ontario in the back yard and that makes a good neighbor (if you’re far enough away from it).

      Thanks John. Up close it looks like a good wind can knock this building over, but the winds coming off the Lake are very severe at times and it’s still standing.

    Of course being in Webster (where life is worth living) I know exactly where that house is, but the mural must be a new addition, I don’t remember seeing it and think I would have noticed.

    All along that stretch there are some unusually quirky homes, and you have done a great job capturing the spirit.

      Thanks, John. This is the last house on Lake Rd., near the swing bridge. I don’t remember it not having the mural but this is the south side of the house, so fading has probably taken place.

    I’m with John – I’ve seen this place a zillion times and don’t remember ever seeing the mural. If it’s always been there then I’m simply not paying attention! The thing is, I’m always on the lookout for murals painted on walls.

    One of us is just going to have to go up to the place, knock on the door, and ask………….

      I’ve seen this house so often that I just don’t pay much attention to it as I drive by. I don’t know when it was painted but go ahead and ask. It’s not the type of thing I’m inclined to do.

    The alignment…do you know, planned or accidental? Lovely image, and obviously well seen since others seem to have missed it. Ken. 🙂

      Thanks, Earl. I’m assuming you mean the alignment of the shore in the painting with the actual shore which I didn’t noticed on the first few shots, which I deleted. After looking at it for a while I thought the artist made a conscious effort to to blend the two. It’s a primitive painting but I like that about it.
