These are apple tress in full bloom, shot 5/12/13. This is on Lake Road, just east of Webster (Where Life is Worth Living). This is one of my favorite drives. It’s short but there is usually not much traffic and the scenery is beautiful, especially this time of year when the apple blossoms are out. There are a lot of apple producers on this stretch of road and you can see thousands upon thousands of trees, all well maintained.
Its nice to see those different treatments. It is remarkable how that barn holds its own in black and white as well as colour, and in the last version too. In the black and white version it seems to be the contrast of the door that pulls the eye, or at least focuses my eye when it gets there. I really can’t choose between them.
Thanks, ehpem. Even I don’t have a clear favorite here. I did the selective color one as an after thought and I liked it. Maybe tomorrow I’ll do another treatment.
Nice! I especially like the last shot – almost looks as if it were shot in Infrared.
Thanks, John. I used Topaz B&W plug-in for that last one and I was trying for an infrared look. It did a fine job and it was very easy.
That last shot? I really like it – especially the way the clouds seem to press down onto the old building.
Thanks, Melinda. I got that last shot about 30 seconds before it started raining. Not a heavy rain, but enough to make you uncomfortable since it was only about 45 degrees.
It must be so beautiful to see all these apple trees at that time of the year. I like all your shots but I have a little preference for the last one
Thanks, Chantal. I think you would like seeing all these trees in bloom at the same time. And Lake Ontario is just on the other side!
The last photo . . . I like it. I think being closer to the subject made it more interesting for me. The others did not have me focusing on anyhing. Not bad photos they, but the last one made me look at it more closely.
I know what you mean, Emilio. I have not taken a good photo of the apple blossoms yet. I think I have to find a higher elevation to get more of the trees in the frame.
Playing catch up here….I agree….That last one is special. Special in a good way.
Thanks, Charles. I will have to rethink the apple blossoms next year, though. Maybe an aerial shot?
