Sony Cyber-shot WX80

Last month we purchased the Sony WX80 because we wanted a camera that was small (tiny, actually), lightweight and easy to operate.  I shot this at the Rochester Institute of Technology campus yesterday.  Except for some minor editing in LR4, which was crop and opening up the shadows a bit, this shot came right out of the camera.  The display was easy to see in harsh light and the zoom lens was easy to operate.  I think we’ll be very happy to have this little guy around.

Looks like you have a winner there, Ken. Nice color, sharp lens, very small form factor. Could it be too small, or is it still comfortable to hold? Have fun with it!

Thanks, John. It’s small enough to carry in you pocket and smaller than most cell phones. But the screen is big and bright and easy to see even on the sunniest days. I set it on auto and just point and shoot.

Your shots are excellent, John. The Sony is not as nice as the S90 but it was only $120 (on sale). My wife will travel with this and it won’t take up any room in her luggage.

I like this sculpture. I went to see Google and ask him all about this little guy. Very nice to put in a pocket when we don’t take usual camera and the price is attractive. Lots of advises say it is very correct except may be the wi fi.. Your are going to have a lot of fun with it.

It’s always a pleasure to have a capable small camera around. Looks like you have one. You’ll have to let us know of your impressions after you’ve spent some more time with this Sony.
