I LOVE THIS! And not just because I have a thing about rust. The colors are fantastic, and the composition of the lines is terrific. Clicking on the large version just makes me want to see this larger and larger and larger—like life size. Wonderful shot.
I haven’t seen much of the iron bacteria this year myself. I think we’ve had too much rain and too cool temperatures. I’m hoping for a hot drought next year (and glad my wishes don’t really affect the weather; farmers would get pretty angry at me).
It looks like this paint job took a very long time to reach this perfection, perhaps even decades of trying.
A true craftsperson never rushes.
I’ve seen better.
Lately?
Right, Sync. The trick is in the details.
Yes, I agree, ehpem. According to the owner, this is still a work in progress.

Thanks, Linda, I was hoping you would like it. I haven’t seen any iron bacteria shots in a while but I can’t take up the cause like you have.

That’s some fine work right there. The artist is to be commended!
I tried to convert this to black and white but it lacked the punch that it deserved.
Rust can, and it only gets better with age.
Nice! Love those shades of green and blue.
Thanks, John.
A testament to the artist. So patient.
Right, Paul. These guys are true artists!
Love abstracts like this!
Thanks, Howard.
Super tones. Why are these trucks almost always green? I have shot a few of them and I think they all were green!
I think it’s because they’re all the same truck.
WOW! I never thought of that. Now I’ll be wondering who drives them around to all the different locations…….
The joy is in the detail of that rust. They must make the name-plate out of something different as that seems destined to outlast the bodywork.
The chrome plating probably helps resist rust on the name-plate. Too bad the rest of the truck isn’t chrome plated.
What I want to know is how you got a picture of my truck?!?
Thanks, Jack. I used a camera.
That baby is better than new. Looks like it’s got at least another 200,000 miles left on it. Any chance you can deliver that truck?
It would be more fun if you came here to pick it up and use it on your road trip home, Toad.
My legs may be short but my will is strong. Hoppin’ my way towards you as we speak!
No no, FLY! In a plane!
