I shot these at the Lamberton Conservatory a while back. They have a small but excellent collection of cactus and thorny plants and some of them are quite old. Some Saguaro plants live to be 150-200 years old, but I think no one really knows for sure. They do make great subjects for photos, though.
If anyone fines these erotic please don’t tell me.
Ouch! They are so sharp I can feel them stab from over here. I like the simplicity of that first shot, Ken.
Thanks, Andy. I had to get close with the macro lens but I respect those thorns.
Oops… for sure I wont touch Ken! it looks like barbed wires.. I bet you will find a nice title for this picture lol..
Thanks, Chantal. I’m still searching for an appropriate title and I haven’t given up.
Fascinating and beautiful.
Thanks, Meanderer.
Cacti . . . I do like cacti . . . Nice photos of them, too.
I like cacti, too. They’re difficult to grow in our climate, especially the big ones. You just don’t see them this size normally, except at the Lamberton.
I like the lines and shapes in the second photo, Ken. Whether or not they are erotic is a bit of a thorny subject, i must say.
Thanks, Tom. I’m going to guess they are not.
Hahaha… I don’t find anything erotic in these images. 😉
Anyway, fantastic details – as usual, Ken!
Thanks, Malin. Of course, I mention it as a joke but you never know!
🙂
Yeh, I like the first pic too! Such clarity and detail. I’m in lurv…
Thanks, Janina. I don’t know where I get my love for thorny things.
I like the second image with it curves and pattern. We must also watch where we squat when shooting cactus. 🙂
Thanks, Monte. I never stray from the path at the conservatory since I like going back there every once in a while.
