Rain and heavy overcast skies kept us from seeing the blood moon last week but the night before the moon looked like this. At least in Webster (Where Life is Worth Living). I managed to grab a few shots before the clouds moved in.
There’s only very slight cropping, just to get the best position. I’m very satisfied with the way the 300 handles, especially with the VR on. I don’t think I could have taken this handheld without it.
Wonderful shot
Thanks, sp.
Lovely moon shot, Ken. I’m very drawn to the full moon, and mourn that most months it is most visible the night before or the night after . …
Thanks, Sarah. We have so much overcast I think we’re lucky to get a glimpse of a clear night sky.
Surprised you got such a good shot with only a 300mm. Did you do some cropping?
It is always difficult to get the right exposure but you did really well.

The perfect composition too, Ken
Thanks, Andy. It’s close to, but not exactly, the rule of thirds, which I usually ignore.
Gorgeous shot Ken and I appreciate the effort you make .. I like titles 😆
Thanks, Chantal. It’s nice to be appreciated.
