I shot these at the Bay Outlet Bridge earlier last week. I don’t often see heron here, especially since there is usually a lot of people fishing and that tends to scare them off. On this day, though, there were few people about since it was only 47° (F) and very windy. I saw the bird in the shallows by the shore and just had enough time to fire off a few shots. As soon as I moved to get a better vantage point, he (she?) flew away.
Very cool shot, Ken.
Thanks, Gracie.
It’s what they do. Very skittish! But you still managed a nice, clear shot.
Thanks, E. I actually got several nice shots. When I moved, he (she?) saw me and moved on. I think I’ll go back a few times to check in on him.
Nice! I love finding these guys here as they are nice an big and have some color to them..most AZ birds are small and drab.
Thanks, Maureen. It must be hard to find waterfowl in Az.
That fellow let you to shoot him, how sweet. This is a nice picture and I love the second one.
Thanks for this blue heron Ken.
Thank you, Chantal!
