This is the reason I joined the Air Force. I couldn’t stop looking at the sky. Skygazing!

Beautiful
Thanks, SP.
Beautiful skies! I like all of them but my favourite is 3279; so painterly.
Thanks, Meanderer. It may interest you to know I took all of these from the same location at the same time.
Those skies are beautiful, nice share Ken. Oh my! it’s such a long time I did not comme to visit you! though not easy when we don’t receive newsletters. I am glad you came and visit me.
Thanks, Chantal. Check your notifications page to see what they are set for for blog postings. It could be it’s set for no notifications so you won’t receive any.
I’m a skygazer, too, but never joined the air force. Nice that we can see all this from the ground. Same location at the same time? Amazing. Glad you caught these.
Thanks, Linda. These days I like being grounded. Same place same time is possible at the lake since there are uninterrupted views to the north, east and west. Some of the flights may be from Canadian air traffic since Toronto is just on the other side of the lake.
I love airplanes, but I’m not generally not a fan of contrails in my photos. They do make for interesting subject matter, though. The overall look and feel of these photos is very nice.
Thanks, Tom. I have, on one occasion, cloned out a contrail in a photo because I thought the contrail was not appropriate. But there are few places that human presence are not apparent and I wanted to tap into that.
I don’t fully understand the science behind contrails, but they can really something special to a sky. On the other hand, sometimes they can also ruin a shot. In these instances they are all part of the picture.
Thanks, Andy. Yes, contrails can ruin a photo easily. So I decided to try to use them as the main focal point instead of avoiding them. I like the way that they integrate with the rest of a natural sky.
