I’ve driven by these greenhouses at least one hundred times and I have never seen them catch the morning light like this.  In Webster (Where Life is Worth Living), of course.

    I really like 9106, and it’s a fitting number to assign to it. 😉 (Who needs names… they only distract from what you see.) Love the textures and colors.

    From your other post I had assumed you finally got yourself a building-sized x-ray machine . . . now I see a more mundane, if still interesting, explanation.

    I’m assuming you did a mild HDR (or something similar) treatment on them, or are these as shot? Regardless, a fortuitous capture beautifully presented.

    As for the name 9106 . . . not bad, but I think a prime number (9127, to be specific) fit the subject and composition a little better. At first I thought 9103 was better suited, but it has no character, and unlike 9127, it does not ‘shine”.

      Thanks, Emilio. Yes, the detail was enhanced in Topaz slightly and I thought it was suitable for these subjects. I don’t often use that enhancement but here it seemed fitting.
      I would have liked to use 9127 as the file name but, unfortunately, it was in use at the time. I guess I could have used 9127-2 but then it loses the “character” completely.

    These are like some enormous and rather neglected jewel that you stumbled upon. You would think it could be worth a lot of money. But perhaps only in certain light.

      Thanks, ehpem. These greenhouses may appear to be neglected but they are in use all summer long. The windows are real glass, unlike the plastic ones they build today. I think they could be quite old but I’ll have to have my research department look into it.

      Thanks, John. I ran these through a Topaz Adjust filter to bring out the detail in the greenhouses a little but the sky was masked off in both photos. The filter gives it a little push in the details and brings out the weathered look. There is no color enhancement other that a little Vibrance adjustment.

      Thanks, Andy. The gold color is what first caught my eye as it’s rare to see this time of year. The first shot is what I saw from the car but there was a lot more to be seen.
