I have been collecting photos of trees and leaves for a long time and thought I should post one. It’s difficult to take a simple, common subject, make a lot of photos and still keep it interesting. But, if I may generalize, photographers love a challenge. I had a manager who would preface his remarks with “I have a challenge for you!” before giving me a crappy job to do, thinking I would be pleased to have a “challenge”. The tree/leaf project is nothing like that. It’s something I do out of love. Like everything I do these days.
At the risk of running low on leaf photos to post, here are a few more.
I love the third picture, it’s so original and colours of the last one.
have a nice week Ken
Thanks, Chantal. The last was a Kodachrome original.
Very nice offerings.
Thanks, Emilio.
Leaves 1943 is my favorite – lovely post-processing.
Thanks, John. It is reminiscent of my hand coloring days.
Very nice, Ken! It’s interesting (in a good way) to see such a variation of patterns, shapes and colors on these leaves.
Thanks, Gracie. It’s endless.
Nice series Ken.
Thanks, John.
Leaves and trees are among my favorite subjects and you have taken the ordinary and made them something special and exotic with these images!
Thanks, Howard. These are subjects that anybody can appreciate. Unless you live above the tree line.
One of my favorite subjects as well. They’re all terrific, but I have a special fondness for #1943.
Thanks, Charles. I like the technique of bring the subject out from the background. It’s an old trick but it works.
Ken, leaves must be one of those common photographic subjects so many of us enjoy. My own library seems to have more then it’s far share of images of them stored away. These are beautiful…#1942 and #2207 are favorites…in that order. Very nice and I’m glad you shared.
Thanks, Earl. I shot these this past Fall at the peak of the season for color. Last year we were lucky enough to have a colorful season and many took advantage of it.
Wonderful shots, Ken. I particularly like that 3rd one and it’s vivid color. I haven’t given much thought to simply shooting leaves but you have a great idea here. Each image certainly tells a story.
Thanks, Jimi. There was very little adjustment to that shot and I was very pleased with the way it came out.
Our great outdoors would be impoverished without leaves. These images just show how badly off we would be without them. A fine set, Ken. I speak as a fellow leaf lover.
Thanks, Andy. The photo possibilities seem endless with leaves.
Leaves are always interesting, especially if they’re colourful.
PS: Love the new blog theme…
Thanks, Janina. Over the years I’ve amassed a huge collection of leaf photos. I just cant stop.
